Supporting self sufficiency. The Independent Living program is the most self-sufficient plan at Deerwood Crossing. While seniors are not required to purchase any services, they have the option of adding services that fit their lifestyle and make them feel more comfortable. Services that will be available to purchase include:
Housekeeping
Housekeeping services can be purchased on a regular or as-needed basis. The fee for the housekeeping services will be based on the square footage and condition of the apartment.
Laundry
Linen service and/or personal laundry service is available for purchase. Linen service will be provided weekly. Personal laundry will be charged according to the number of loads. Residents also may use the card operated laundry machines located on each floor.
Meals
Meals prepared by a trained chef will be served on a daily basis. Meal plans give seniors flexibility in choosing the number of meals each day they wish to purchase. In order to offer a gracious dining room experience, the chef will prepare menus that offer choice and a variety of selections. Guest meals will be available at an additional cost.
Beautician / Barber
While seniors are encouraged to continue using their own personal beauticians or barbers, on-site services will be available. Residents can schedule appointments with the beautician/barber for a variety of services including manicures and pedicures. The salon’s operating hours and charges will be determined by the staff based upon the needs of the residents.
Planned Social Activities
An activities coordinator will be on site to plan various social activities. These will include planned outings and trips in the community as well as social, recreational, educational, and cultural opportunities.
Emergency Call System
For a small fee, residents can be equipped with an emergency call pendant when they move in. In case of medical or house emergency, the resident is able to summon staff. Staff will assist or contact the appropriate emergency response agency for the resident. |
